Irrigation Association of New York
The Irrigation Association has established that July will be
“SMART IRRIGATION MONTH”
to promote efficient watering practices & water conservation.

Welcome to the Irrigation Association of New York

The Irrigation Association of New York (IANY) is a professional organization of contractors representing all specialties and disciplines of New York state's irrigation industry. It aims to foster development and economic advancement for its members.

IANY has served the public and the irrigation industry since 1985, with three key objectives:

  • ensuring that forward-thinking irrigation practices are known and followed;
  • conserving New York's natural resources; and
  • promoting a strong, valuable industry and profession for the future

July is Smart Irrigation Month

Promote Water Conservation Through
Advanced Technology and Practices

July has been designated Smart Irrigation Month to promote efficient watering practices, technologically advanced irrigation products and water conservation. Smart Irrigation Month is an opportunity to draw attention to water-saving products, practices and services. Whether you're in agriculture, landscape or golf course irrigation, whether you're a manufacturer, distributor, dealer, contractor or grower, and no matter how large or small your business, you can take part in Smart Irrigation Month.

With growing demands straining water resources everywhere, it's important to promote water-saving products, adopt "best practices" and educate customers about how to do more with less. Smart Irrigation Month is the perfect time for the industry to promote a history of innovation and drive public awareness of the value of irrigation.

IANY Submits Testimony on Water Quality
In October 2009, a New York state legislative committee held water-quality hearings. Although IANY did not have a representative present, the association’s written testimony was entered into the record. Click here to read it.
